The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the Eyes of others only a Green thing that stands in the way.
Some See Nature all Ridicule & Deformity, & by these I shall not regulate my proportions;
& Some Scarce see Nature at all.
But to the Eyes of the Man of Imagination,
Nature is Imagination itself.
As a man is, So he Sees. As the Eye is formed, such are its Powers.

William Blake
Letter to Dr. Trusler (August 23rd 1799)

Hello

Welcome to the garden

Come, come and sit here.
My name is tomacco,
I am a grafting of tomato and tobacco

I come from the "New World", where I have grown throughout the continent for millennia. They say I belong to the family of the nightshade
and that this allows tomato fruits and tobacco roots of in
me.

Come, let us sing to the moon. Our lips will sing to our children,And they again to theirs ...
For generations yet unborn can sing along to their heirs

Since the beginning of humanity you have survived with the nutritional and medicinal properties of plants. They say the number of plant species on Earth is estimated at 400,000, many of them unknown to humans.
While only a fraction have been identified and categorized by Western botanists,
we can say that many plants unknown in the West are known to the indigenous peoples who live with them in their natural environment.

All ancient and indigenous peoples insist that their knowledge of plant medicines comes directly from us plants, and not through trial and error experimentation. What is less known is that many of the ancient teachings of the plants are the basis of modern discoveries in both medicine and as food.

Worldwide there is a tradition of direct perception of nature through the "intelligence of the heart".
Recent discoveries in neuroscience have shown that fifty percent of the human heart is made up of neurons. The heart is actually a brain in its own right.
The heart-centered perception can be remarkably accurate and detailed in its ability to collect information, as indigenous traditions know.

As we change our traditional way of life, we don't know how many of our species that could be useful for human welfare are disappearing even faster than the forests themselves.
Who knows what plants with food or medicinal value, or otherwise beyond its scientific interest, have disappeared in the same way as the dodo and the lemur disappeared?

Come and eat my fruit.
Eat tomacco. Drink tomacco. Smoke tomacco.
Close your eyes and see the colored lines dancing.
Follow the song.
Follow the warmth

By joining our stems and sharing our chlorophyll, the plants we help each other, merging our names, myths and genealogies.
The tomato, juicy food,
nourishes my body
and tobacco, sacred plant and powerful drug elevates my spirit to the Goddess.
The union of the two worlds means to transcend the duality of gender,
the differentiation of food and drug, disease and remedy,
and the separation of
Nature and culture, animal and plant body and soul, celebrating the profound unity of all creation.

Sow me, water me with your tears and your blood.

Defend me with your life so everyone can freely feed of me.

We are a part of everything we call Universe.
A part limited in time and space to experience yourself, your thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest. It's like an optical illusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few people around us.Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole creation in all its beauty. Nobody can get it completely, but the effort is itself part of the liberation and the foundation of our security.
